Artificial intelligence (A.I.) is definitely here to stay, and it's becoming increasingly popular. People are using it for all sorts of projects, like commercials, YouTube videos, and even audiobooks where A.I. can read to us. Personally, I find some computer-generated voices a bit off-putting.
While I’m not an A.I. expert, I have my own thoughts on it. I've always had a wealth of story ideas swirling around in my head, complete with scenes, characters, and plenty of conversations. But turning those ideas into written words has been a real challenge for me. As someone with dyslexia, I often struggle to express myself clearly, even in my job where I have to write incident reports. Luckily, I've had good bosses who had been understanding and helped me find ways to manage my writing difficulties.
Writing stories has always been daunting, and I often felt hesitant to share my work. That’s where A.I. comes in for me. I use it as a proofreading tool, and it has really helped make my ideas more readable. It's like having someone that corrects my mistakes without judgment. Thanks to A.I., I’ve gained the courage to share my work with others! I genuinely find A.I. to be a useful tool with lots of positive applications. In fact, it even helped me create this website to share my thoughts with you! Of course, A.I. is not flawless and sometimes goes off in weird directions, even adding ideas to my stories that aren’t the best, but it also apologizes when I ask it to stop.
I can imagine a future where people might use A.I. to write entire books or TV shows, but I worry that it could lead to some stories lacking the heart and care that make them special. If we rely too much on A.I. to churn out content, we might end up with lackluster narratives that don’t engage us as much. That could lead to a kind of mental complacency, which isn’t great.
I know some people might have different opinions about how I use A.I., but that’s okay. If you take the time to read my stories, I truly hope you enjoy them, and I would love to hear your thoughts!
